Dr. Jodyne Butto, M.D.

Dr. Butto is one of our hometown heroines, raised in Anchorage and educated only a kilometer from APG at East High School.  Do you remember Jody the movie girl at Art's Video Mart in the 80's?  That would be our own Dr. Butto.

Dr. Butto has served Alaskans as an APG doctor since 1995, and her special pediatric interest is asthma.  In fact, Dr. Butto has helped many young Alaskans as a volunteer physician and coordinator of a children's summer asthma camp.

West Coast colleges helped prepare Dr. Butto for her career.  She attended beautiful UC-Santa Cruz for college, where she was a Banana Slug and also worked as a gymnastics teacher. 

Dr. Butto earned her M.D. at the University of Washington, then specialized as a pediatric resident at Loma Linda University.  While at Loma Linda, Dr. Butto received one of the greatest honors for a resident, accepting an invitation from the medical faculty to serve as Chief Resident.

Dr. Butto's advice for patients and families?  "Please, get enough sleep."
 

Her favorite part of being a healthcare provider?  "Watching kids grow and develop."
 

Her worst childhood illness?  "A bout with pneumonia while we lived in Bethel, Alaska.  My mom had to take me to my pediatrician back in California."

Her interests?  Scrapbooking, needlecrafts, and spending time with her extended Anchorage family.
