Hospital Services

When your newborn comes into this world, you may have several physicians at the hospital looking after Mom, but it is your Pediatrician who will check in on your baby and make sure all is well - head to toe exam, weight gain, overseeing lab work, and of course answering any questions and concerns you may have as you begin to navigate each day with your new family member.

Our physicians maintain privileges with Providence Alaska Medical Center.

Sick Visits

Sick visits are appointments which involve an exploratory exam and evaluation of signs and symptoms to figure out what is wrong and come up with a treatment plan, provide education, prescribe medication, etc.  Dependent on the complexity of the condition and the amount of time required of your provider, there are different appointment levels.

These types of appointments are likely to be subject to your insurance deductible, co-pays, co-insurance and out-of-pocket costs. Contact your insurance carrier for detailed plan benefits.

Time: Approx. 15 - 60 Minutes (normal to more complex)

Breastfeeding Consultation

APG is proud to have an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant on our Team and available as a resource to our families.

Well & Preventative Care Visits

This is an annual check-up that includes an assessment of growth and development parameters along with a comprehensive head to toe exam according to the American Academy of Pediatrics’ recommended schedule (more frequent during infancy and annually for older children).

Well and preventative care visits are considered "Preventative Care" and typically will be covered at no cost to you by your insurance. Contact your insurance carrier for detailed plan benefits.

Time: Approx. 30 Minutes

Vaccinations

Anchorage Pediatric Group supports the American Academy of Pediatrics' recommended vaccination schedule and encourages all families with children who can be vaccinated, to be vaccinated.

Vaccines themselves are available at APG and are provided by the State of Alaska at no cost to the patient’s family. However, APG does charge an administration fee of $69 per vaccine to cover storage, administration and supply costs.

Vaccinations are considered "Preventative Care" and should be covered at no cost to you by your Insurance.

Labs & Routine Screenings

With your time and cost effectiveness in mind, we offer a number of CLIA-Waived Lab Services here in the office to prevent having to send you to another location for the recommended tests whenever possible.

Some of our lab services & screenings are routine and will be discussed by your Provider at the appropriate visit while others are used in determining a diagnosis and creating a treatment plan.

Procedures

Certain procedures are scheduled and performed in the office (Sutures, Wart Removal, Circumcision, etc.).  These procedures are generally standalone visits - we do not bill for a visit & the procedure in most cases.

These types of appointments are likely to be subject to your insurance deductible, co-pays, co-insurance and out-of-pocket costs.  Some procedures are considered elective and may not be covered by your insurance at all, please check with your plan before pursuing these procedures.
